A young structure, it was set up in 2007 to coordinate the expertise of French museums. Its activities cover varied scientific, cultural and technical fields.

A dedicated structure, the agency is committed to the project of the Louvre Abu Dhabi, an entirely new museum that will open its doors to the public at the end of 2013.

An original structure, the agency brings together for the first time twelve of the largest French heritage establishments within a company set up under private law.
