The Scientific Council

The Scientific Council is a consultative body which oversees the deontology of the scientific and cultural projects of the agency. It must be consulted by the Board of Directors on scientific and cultural matters.

Henri Loyrette, Chairman-director of the musée du Louvre, chairs the Scientific Council.

Its other members are:

  • Sylvie Aubenas, head curator, head of the Prints and Photography Department of the Bibliothèque nationale de France,
  • Jean-Pierre Changeux, chairman of the Accord and Satisfaction Committee, honorary professor at the Collège de France and the Institut Pasteur, member of the Institut,
  • Yves Le Fur, deputy director of the heritage and collections of the musée du quai Branly,
  • Jean-Hubert Martin, head heritage curator and representative of the Direction des Musées de France,
  • Alfred Pacquement, director of the Musée national d’Art moderne - Centre de création industrielle, Centre Pompidou,
  • Vincent Pomarède, head curator, representing the Paintings Department of the musée du Louvre,
  • Guy Cogeval, Président of Musée d’Orsay and musée de l’Orangerie ;
  • Guillemette Andreu-Lanoë, head heritage curator, Director of the departement of Egyptian Antiquities of the musée du Louvre
